Volunteers Trained on Community Based Environmental Health Promotion Program

Reported by Rebero Jean d'Amour, Story written by Amanda Mulder

During the month, volunteers and community health workers were trained on Community Based Enviornmental Health Promotion Program.

One participant described the value of the training, "I am happy to attend this training because I have been refreshed on the functionality of hygiene clubs in the village. After this training, we are going to resume hygiene club actvities which were stopped by COVID-19. We will promote hygiene in our village and will support the most vulnerable to have some materials like basins, cups, and soaps for regular hand washing. As we got household water filters in my village, I will work with water project volutneers to make home visits for checking the functionality of these filters and mobilizing beneficiaries to filter unclean water for their neighbors without filters to help them drinking clean water and have good health."

Location:

Volunteers are the key to our success. All volunteers receive training on water, sanitation and hygiene principles as well as how to build, operate and maintain filter technologies. Volunteers complete a certification program that ensures they are prepared to train and support recipients.
