112 Household Filters distributed in Jarama Sector
Reported by Consolée UWIMANA, Story written by Margaret CoolmanWater project volunteers distributed 112 SAM III filters to families in the Jarama sector in January. It is estimated that 986 people will benefit from the distribution of the filters, as each filter is to be shared with two neighboring households.

Solution:
SAM3 (Sand And Membrane) filters are placed in households for a family and their neighbors. They meet WHO's standards and requires no electricity to function, making it ideal for rural communities. Each family receives extensive training and ongoing volnteer support to maintain the filter for it's 10-year-plus lifespan.
