3 Villages Receive Rainwater Harvesting System in Jarama Sector
Reported by Consolée UWIMANA, Story written by Margaret CoolmanWater project volunteers installed 3 Rainwater Harvesting Systems in the Jarama sector. It is estimated that 1500 people will benefit from these harveting systems, which are in three separate villages in the sector.

Solution:
We place these rainwater collection tanks at centrally-located churches, which shortens the walk for water and improves water quality. Churches sell the water at an affordable rate and use the income to maintain the system. Remaining funds are given to the poorest members of the community for school fees, health insurance, and other basic needs.
