SAM2 Community Filter Stands Built
Reported by Rebero Jean d'Amour, Story written by Amanda MulderWhile Water Project staff continued to work from home, they were able to purchase materials to construct stands for SAM2 Community filters. This will allow SAM2 filters to be installed more quickly once supplies and access to rural communities becomes available.
These four stands will be used for installations at health clinics and schools when Water Project staff esume travels to the field to support volunteers during implementation of these activities.

Solution:
SAM3 (Sand And Membrane) filters are placed in households for a family and their neighbors. They meet WHO's standards and requires no electricity to function, making it ideal for rural communities. Each family receives extensive training and ongoing volnteer support to maintain the filter for it's 10-year-plus lifespan.
